Roasted Onion Oleoresin is obtained by the extraction of roasted flakes of onion. It is a dark brownish, viscous liquid, with a caramelised aroma and mildly pungent, sweet flavour. The product consists of natural extracts of roasted onion and permitted food grade emulsifying agents.
The method of solvent extraction uses a separation solvent, which is generally non-volatile has a high boiling point and is miscible with the mixture, but doesn’t form an isotropic mixture as a medium to extract essential active elements from spices.
